CREATING HEALTHY PLACES AND SPACES
Design for health assessment
The Framework” (NPPF) requires that equal weight should be granted to each of the three pillars of Sustainable Development (SD); Economic, Social and Environment. The evidence based Design for Health Assessment allows ‘Health’ to be addressed alongside Landscape, Amenity and Biodiversity. The Model allows Developers and Landscape Architects to review their Landscape Masterplans against the health research evidence base. From this they are able to optimise their projects for health and wellbeing. This can be utilized for the design of Parks, Open Spaces and wider Green Infrastructure, and tailored to schemes of all scales and sizes.
